Mandana Sandstone
Mandana Mirror Polish
Mandana sandstone taken all the way to a full reflective gloss. The polish pulls the depth out of the stone and turns a quiet rose into something considerably richer.
Full gloss, full slab
About Mandana Mirror Polish
This is the top of the polishing range. The slab passes under progressively finer diamond heads until the surface closes and reflects — you can read the roof structure in the face of the slab in the photograph on this page, which is our own stock being carried out of the unit.
Polish changes Mandana more than it changes most stones. Dry and sawn it is a muted rose; fully polished it deepens into a warm, saturated red-brown with visible movement through the body. If you have only ever seen Mandana as rough paving, a polished slab will not look like the same material.
It belongs indoors and dry. A polished sandstone floor is slippery wet, the same as any polished stone, so keep it for lobbies, showrooms, feature walls and table tops and specify honed or natural anywhere water lands.

Full slabs
Polished full length, not just in squares.
Mirror polish is run on the full bed-run slab as well as on cut squares. On a long slab the polish is what shows the bedding movement at full length — which is the reason to specify a slab rather than a module in the first place.
A slab this size is heavy and the polished face is the vulnerable part, so it travels on edge, paper-wrapped, with the face never carrying weight. Tell us the finished sizes you need and we will tell you what the beds can actually give.
