The Agrawal Stone Suppliers unit at Amarpura, Ramganjmandi

The company

Two generations in Ramganjmandi

Agrawal Stone Suppliers is a Star Group enterprise, based at the Industrial Area, Amarpura. We process natural stone at our own unit and source it from quarries and yards we trust across the belt — and we have been doing it long enough to know what the stone will and will not do.

Our story

A father, two sons, and one yard in Ramganjmandi.

Jai Prakash Gupta has been in stone here long enough to judge a bed by eye — to know which face of a block will polish clean and which will not, and which quarry is worth the rate it is asking. None of that is written down anywhere. It is learned slowly, on the saw floor and at the quarry face, and it is the reason people started coming to him in the first place.

In 2008 it became a company. We took the unit at Amarpura and gave what had until then been a family trade an address of its own — a gate, a saw line, a yard.

His two sons run it with him now. Pankaj handles sales and exports, Bhushan handles logistics, and Jai Prakash is still on production, where he started. Between the three of us it has grown into Star Group — seven registered firms covering quarry and minerals, processing, tooling, trading and export. What has not changed is the thing that first brought people to this yard: a straight answer about what a piece of stone actually is and where it is really from.

Who we are

What we make. What we source. Checked the same way.

Some of what we sell comes off our own saws at Amarpura. A larger part of it we buy — from quarry owners and processing units we have dealt with for years across Ramganjmandi and Mandana — and sell on. That is how most suppliers of any real size in this belt actually work, because no single quarry produces every colour, bed and finish a project needs. We would rather tell you that plainly than let you assume otherwise.

What we control is what happens after the stone reaches us. Every consignment, ours or bought in, is checked for tone and defect, sorted, stacked on edge and loaded the same way before it leaves for your site. When we tell you a consignment will match tonally, it is because we checked it — not because we are hoping whoever cut it got it right.

What we sell alongside the stone is a straight answer. If polished green Kota is the wrong specification for the bathroom you are describing, we will say so. If your programme dates are not achievable, we will give you the date that is. That has kept our clients coming back more effectively than any amount of marketing.

What we hold to

Six things we do not compromise on.

01

Samples first

No photograph, screen or printed swatch renders natural stone honestly. We courier physical pieces before you commit, and a full slab where tone is critical.

02

One bed, one order

Where quantity justifies it we block-reserve from a single bed so a large floor lays up as one tone rather than three.

03

Real dates

We give the dispatch date we can actually hold, not the one you want to hear. Phased sites get phased loads.

04

Visible freight

Ex-yard and delivered rates quoted separately so you can see exactly what transport is costing and arrange your own if it is cheaper.

05

Sorted, not shovelled

Every consignment is checked for colour spread, thickness and edge damage before it is stacked. Stone travels on edge on battens, never flat in a pile.

06

Honest specification

If what you have asked for is the wrong material for the location, we will tell you before we quote it, not after you have laid it.

Our team

A father and his two sons. Direct lines.

Jai Prakash started the business; Pankaj and Bhushan run it with him. No call centre and no sales layer — you speak to whichever of us owns the part of the business you are asking about.

Location

Ramganjmandi, Kota

Amarpura sits inside the Ramganjmandi belt — the stretch of Kota district that produces effectively all of the world's Kota stone. Mandana, where the sandstone comes from, is about thirty kilometres away. Short haulage from quarry to unit is a real part of why our rates work.

Visitors are welcome. Come and look at full slabs under daylight rather than at photographs; it is the only reliable way to choose a stone.

Next step

Tell us the size, finish and quantity.

We quote ex-yard Ramganjmandi or delivered to your site anywhere in India. Physical samples dispatched on request.

Welcome to the Star Group family. Every piece here is personally checked and sorted by us before it leaves Ramganjmandi.
