Paper-wrapped and strapped stone bundles loaded for export

Container supply, sea-freight packing and documentation

Kota Stone & Sandstone Export

We crate and load for container shipment from our own unit at Ramganjmandi, with Gujarat ports as the usual route out. Tell us the destination port and the quantity, and we will quote FOB or CIF.

Packing

Packing for sea is a different job

A consignment going onto a trailer for Delhi and a consignment going into a container for a six-week sea voyage are not packed the same way, and treating them as if they were is where damaged export orders come from.

For sea freight we use seaworthy wooden crates or pallets — fumigated and ISPM-15 marked where the destination requires it — with edge protection and a moisture barrier. Slabs go on edge in A-frames or flat in bundles depending on size and thickness. Salt air and condensation inside a steel box for weeks are the enemy, and the packing is built for that.

So tell us at quotation stage that a consignment is for export, not after it is cut. It changes how we crate it and, sometimes, what we recommend you specify.

Loading

What actually fits in a container

Stone hits the weight limit long before the volume limit. A 20 ft container takes roughly 25–27 tonnes, which at 25 mm works out to broadly 4,000–4,500 sq ft before you allow for crating.

That means the useful conversation is about thickness. On an export order, every millimetre you do not need is weight you are paying sea freight on. We will work the loading plan against your actual size and thickness and tell you where it can come down safely — and where it cannot.

Questions

Export supply

Do you export Kota stone and Mandana sandstone?

Yes. We pack and load for container shipment from our own unit at Ramganjmandi, with Gujarat ports (Mundra and Kandla) as our usual route. Tell us the destination port and we will quote FOB or CIF.

How is stone packed for sea freight?

Seaworthy wooden crates or pallets, fumigated and ISPM-15 marked where the destination requires it, with edge protection and a moisture barrier. Slabs are stood on edge in A-frames or bundled flat depending on size and thickness. Packing for sea is not the same as packing for a domestic trailer, and we do it differently from the start — tell us at quotation stage that a consignment is for export.

How much stone fits in a container?

A 20 ft container takes roughly 25–27 tonnes, which is the practical limit for stone — you hit the weight limit long before the volume limit. At 25 mm that is broadly 4,000–4,500 sq ft, less once you allow for crating. We work the exact loading plan against your size and thickness before quoting.

What documentation do you provide?

Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and the fumigation certificate where applicable. We can work with your freight forwarder or arrange shipping ourselves. GSTIN 08AVWPG0336Q1ZW, Udyam Registration UDYAM-RJ-24-0010786.

Can you match tone across a phased export order?

This is the question that matters most on export work, because a second container arriving six months later from a different bed is a visible problem you cannot fix on site. Tell us the total quantity at the start and we will reserve and cut from one bed, holding the balance in our yard between shipments.
