Green Kota Stone
Green Kota is the denser, tighter-grained end of the deposit. Polished, it goes almost black-green with a mirror surface; honed or leathered it reads as a deep, quiet olive.

About Green Kota Stone
The green colour comes from the mineral content of a particular set of beds — not every quarry face yields it, and within a face the consistent, evenly coloured material is a fraction of the run. That is why green commands a premium over grey, and why colour matching across a large order matters: we block-reserve from a single bed wherever the quantity justifies it, so a 4,000 sq ft floor lays up as one tone rather than three.
Because the grain is tighter, green takes a mirror polish better than any other Kota grade. It is the usual choice for hotel lobbies, showroom floors, feature staircases and anywhere the stone is doing decorative rather than purely functional work. In a leather finish it becomes something else entirely — matte, tactile, and much more forgiving of scuffs than a polished floor.

Our largest calibrated green format — 1168 × 559 mm, machine-ground to a consistent thickness. Big enough to cut the joint count on a floor dramatically, and flat enough to lay on thin-bed adhesive.

Machine-ground to about ±1 mm. At this size that matters more, not less — a long slab on an uneven bed is a slab that cracks.
Specify 25 mm up
We do not recommend under 25 mm at 46″. For anything taking trolleys or vehicles, go to 30–40 mm.

Why we stack green on edge.
Green Kota is the grade where tone matching matters most, because the colour range within the green beds is wider than people expect. Stacking on edge on battens lets us walk the row and pull anything that reads too blue or too olive before it is ever loaded.
On a large green order we will block-reserve from a single bed. It costs us yield and it is the only way to promise a four-thousand-square-foot floor that lays up as one colour.
